About

Extreme Duress is an extension of my interest in creating technology solutions for business problems. Working with business leadership, my purpose in this project is identifying opportunities to leverage the existing technology infrastructure whenever possible, and to create new technology solutions to business problems.

Project objectives include: assessing methodologies to leverage current architectures, modeling the technology adoption decision process and providing process and project management support for enterprise technology adoption. The span of research extends to process management, technology in/outsourcing, emerging technologies and subjects initiated by client inquiries. Withal, my intent is to facilitate process-based technology decision making, engaging stakeholders to define needs and establish a shared vision of the business, technology and the enterprise architecture.

I began my involvement with technology in the recesses of junior high school mathematics, creating a road-race program on punch cards that allowed the player to 'drive' any Grand Prix road course by selecting speed and condition variables on a telex terminal. A substantially less than satisfying user experience.

In the mid-80s, I found myself managing a technology joint venture in China. Beset by necessity, I smuggled components in from Hong Kong and built my first PC. I then developed software to manage personnel, logistics and prepare tax returns.

I've managed large and small projects across North America and in India, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Through this experience, I remain completely captivated by the astonishing possibilities of computers and computer systems to enhance productivity and  allow people to reach further and do more.
