Technology matters. Use it wisely.
The stuff is pervasive. Workstations. Laptops. Mobile devices. Ever-changing enterprise technology ecosystems.

And technology is costly. Enterprise architectural decisions have profound implications for  productivity and profitability.

Extreme Duress TechnologyWorks is a research and consulting project focusing on defining and improving processes essential for effective enterprise technology governance.

The choice to focus on process as central to technology governance is straightforward in the context of economic efficiency. In the triumvirate of people, technology and process which we can influence to deliver a project, it is process that affords the greatest leverage for qualitative improvement in technology services and products. Whether the investment is in application development, outsourcing, new technology adoption or continuing technical support operations, a solid process and governance structure is a direct route to maximizing returns on that investment.

The Extreme Duress project is in its infancy. I'm interested in issues confronting technologists and practitioners in the enterprise technology space, and I welcome your email inquiries and suggestions. I'll be adding material, references and resources to the site regularly.

Thanks for visiting.
